CORS Network Applications

Our advanced positioning solutions will suit a variety of business use and applications. We believe there are substantial cost and time savings for a variety of markets anywhere there is mobile data coverage.

Surveying:

Survnet CORS network can be used in a number of land surveying applications that require centimetre accuracy such as building and topographic surveys, deformation monitoring and cadastre surveys.

We at Survnet strongly believe that this CORS network will revolutionize the Land surveying practice in Uganda. This is made possible by eliminating the following problems which have dodged the profession in country;

  • Lack of reliable control points
  • Use of a variety of geodetic reference systems namely Cassini and Arc1960
  • Use of surveyor defined coordinate systems commonly referred to us “Assumed” especially in Mailo land surveys.

It should also be noted that this system can be employed as a quality monitoring tool for land surveys thus aiding the acquisition of reliable geospatial data to populate our new Land Information System (LIS) under the Ministry of Lands Housing and Urban Development.

Survnet network makes any Surveyor / Technician more productive. Using this network, we eliminate the need for you to set up your own base station (no need to worry about finding a secure site or forgetting cables), you are not limited by Radio range / interference issues, you simply set up your GNSS rover and away you go. To top it off, you do not need to have your own RTK base station, almost halving your capital investment.

Precision farming:

Guidance and tracking systems are able to be installed into farming equipment that will automatically steer vehicles according to optimised routes, minimising overlaps.  Savings in time and cost are gained through minimising drive and machine operating times.  Equipment can confidently be operated at any time of the day or night, allowing the farmer to make the right decisions for the particular crop or conditions.

GIS:

Our Network is ideal for any GIS data collection activity that requires sub-meter accuracy. Projects such as utility mapping, asset management, and any application that requires consistent high-precision sub-metre to centimetre accuracy

GNSS Networks are changing the way GIS users collect and manage geographic data. The high accuracy that networks provide has GIS professionals storing and managing their data in new ways. With Survnet services, your GIS’s spatial accuracy is improved and therefore your spatial analysis becomes more reliable.

Mining:

Surface or open-cut mining productivity and efficiency benefit greatly from the use of RTK positioning systems.  Precision positioning devices are fitted to mining equipment to improve plainmetric control.  Improved accuracy of drill depth and drill patterns generally increases ore fragmentation.  Smaller ore fragments means reduced loading times and optimal crusher use

Construction:

This technology can be employed in high-profile projects such as highway construction, airport runways, Hydro power and any construction application that requires precise machine operations and repeat centimetre accuracy.

This technology can be employed from the design stage of engineering projects to implementation/construction.
